My Travel Wishlist

I don’t know about you but now that summer is over, and that includes possibly the best family holiday ever, I’m finding myself planning my next trip. I’ve booked myself a few days down in London in November to visit my brother and his girlfriend and I can’t wait; there are so many things on my London to do list. However its got me thinking about where else I’d love to visit so I’ve put together a list of my current top 5 picks:

Barcelona

Gaudi. Need I say any more! Possibly the first architect to grab my interest and while I may have given up the dream of becoming one myself his work is incredible and I just have to see it….or do I wait 10 years so I can go see the completed Sagrada Familia ?

Chicago

Pizza is possibly top of the list of reasons to hit up Chicago right? well I’ve heard good things about it and it seems like a good enough reason to fly half way around the world. Obviously I’d take a break between eating pizza and visit the art institute and maybe even the skydeck.

Copenhagen

The little Mermaid, the botanic gardens, Nyhavn. I’ve seen so many photos of other people’s trips to this beautiful city and I feel like it’s a place that I will fall in love with instantly.

San Francisco

Not going to lie I think my childhood love of the Princess Diaries may have something to do with this one; the steep hills, the trolleys and of course there’s the Golden Gate Bridge. I reckon there is more than enough to fill a solid 2 weeks of exploring, so this will definitely have to be a longer holiday but I’m not complaining.

Venice

Really someone should take me for my birthday in February for the Carnival because I’ve heard its stunning. A little ride on a gondola and a spot of people watching at the Piazza San Marco would just be the best way to spend a long weekend.

What’s your top picks? Anywhere you really fancy going or have you been to any of these places and have any recommendations for me? Or suggestions on the best time of year to go?

You should defo go to Copenhagen! I loved every bits of this city. People are so friendly and the city itself so beautiful, lots to do and as you like wandering around, you’ll love it and let’s not talk about food! I could recommand you to go to (plus what you already said)
    – Rosenborg Castle &- Kongens Have
    – Kronprinsensgade area
    – Grefion Fountain area – close to the wee mermaid there.
I’ve been trying to visit Barcelona for ages now, but always ended up in different countries. Heard it was a great city to visit. Also Prague and Vienna are on my travel wishlist. I’m still trying to figure out which Xmas Market I wanna see – Hamburg/Strasburg ? Aha!

Hopefully I’ll make it there sooner rather than later! Thanks for the suggestions! Vienna and Prague would also be an amazing place to visit, they’re also on my longer travel wish list.
I love German Christmas markets they’re the best, go see them all! Or make a list and visit a different one every year.

No worries! Oh what a great idea. Thanks mate. Going to a Swiss one this year. Might also go to Strasburg, if I got time. Been to Hamburg one, was wonderful.
Also, about Copenhagen, take a walk to Christiania – some kind of autonomous community inside the city. It’s quite a good place, good mood as well. It’s different. 🙂

Copenhagen is great all year round but I would advice Venice in November / December. It’s not that crowded and the fog makes it more magical!

Yeah I’ve heard winter time is the best to visit. I think I’m too late to book this year, but maybe next time

I’ve only ever been to Florence, but there is so much of Italy to explore. I’ve heard amazing things about Rome so of course I want to go there too!
