So it’s the last Thursday of the month which now means some form of fitness/health post here..so what have I done since the first one? After focusing on the small changes: cutting out so much rubbish from my diet I decided to step up my healthy eating game with a Detox.
Nikki Sharp is someone I have followed on instagram for ages and I have done her detox 4 times now in its different forms. The last 2 attempts were from her book that you can buy here. Its full of tips to follow before, during and after the detox. The best thing about this is its only 5 days but it does make a differenceMy goal for the 5 days was to try shape some good habits; particularly when it comes to snacking. While I love to eat out and I enjoy a treat or 5 I’m really trying to focus on a more balanced diet and this detox is a great way to kick-start the new habits.
Its not about starving yourself, in fact I’ve never been hungry when I’ve done it. The hardest thing for me is the caffeine withdrawal! If I’m planning on doing the detox I start cutting my coffee consumption about 2 weeks before hand because the headaches are majorly unpleasant.
Meal prep and planning is key to success, get yourself some fun tupperware boxes to take to work.The detox is hard, especially when you work 40-50 hours a week but by day five I’m always full of energy and so glad I’ve done it!
A lot of people do the detox for its slimming qualities, and I’m not going to lie its definitely an advantage but my favourite thing about it is how I feel afterwards, if you don’t believe me try it out for yourself!
